Hello from the Co-Administrators of the In La Kesh Ezboard,

This is a one-time email to all of our members to let you know the status of our ezboard community after the system-wide May 31 ezboard data loss.

Ezboard has announced that their restoration processes are complete, and that all posts which could be salvaged have been restored. Unfortunately our community was badly damaged by the attack, and our board which had thousands of posts since its founding in mid-2001 is now left with less than 60 posts on the entire board, most of which are corrupted (the initial post is intact but all replies are gone and replaced with an error message). There are less than 10 fully intact conversations on the entire board.

This is especially disappointing to us considering the nature of the "Recovering from Religious Fundamentalism" forum and the many open, healing conversations which took place there. We heard privately from many people over the years who never posted publicly at the board that the archived posts were helpful in their own healing processes, and we consider it a great loss that these conversations are gone.

As many of you know, our community has not been very active for many months -- in part due to the busy schedules of the Co-Administrators which have kept us away from the board, and in part due to several ezboard bugs and glitches which, according to some of our members, have made the experience at our board less than pleasurable. Our ad-free "gold" package also lapsed during this time and we decided not to renew it due to the lack of activity at the board. We were keeping the board open and active mainly for its archive importance, but now that this is no longer an issue, we have decided to close the board.

We want you all to know how very much we appreciate your contributions over the years -- your time, your thoughts, your words, your kindness, your presence. We will leave the few posts that remain as-is for the time being, in case any of our members want to copy the information or links to an archive of your own on your own forum or home computer. All forums will be closed to new posting except for the "Conversations" forum, and you are welcome to post there if you'd like, or to reply to this email with any questions, comments, objections, or concerns. {Edit: as of 05/04/06, the "Conversations" forum is now closed also.}

Again, we sincerely appreciate everyone who has contributed to the In La Kesh community and we hope to remain in touch with you either through other online communities or through personal communication.

Thanks & best wishes,
Karen, Rob, and Glenn
